Fredonyer Detour on State Route 36 in Lassen County

The Project:

Caltrans District 2 and Tullis, Inc. are creating a temporary detour related to past fault movement from seismic activity on State Route 36 in Lassen County, east of Fredonyer Summit.

Project Includes:

Creation of two-lane detour just east of Fredonyer Summit during Fall of 2025. Continuation of geological/survey investigations to determine long-term fix for the area.

Current Project Schedule:

State Route 36 in currently under 24/7 one-way traffic control with 10-minute delays in the project area, along with lowered speed limits.  Detour hoped for construction prior to winter weather in late 2025.
