Travelers who do not intend to go to Mexico will exit earlier while the Siempre Viva Road off-ramp in Otay Mesa is closed
SAN DIEGO — Caltrans crews will close the eastbound State Route 905 (SR-905) Britannia Boulevard off-ramp and Siempre Viva Road/Last U.S. exit Sunday through Monday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Additionally, the southbound State Route 125 (SR-125) to eastbound SR-905 connector will be closed Sunday through Monday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The project includes new thermoplastic striping and upgraded wrong-way driver striping enhancements.
Signs will be posted ahead of the closures to alert motorists. Those who do not wish to cross the Otay Mesa Port of Entry into Mexico can access the following detours:
Eastbound SR-905 last U.S. exit
- Keep right at the State Route 11 (SR-11) connector, exit Enrico Fermi Drive off-ramp, and turn right onto Enrico Fermi Drive.
**A U-Turn to USA will be available via the left lane on SR-905 before the Port of Entry for motorists who miss the detour signage.
Eastbound SR-905 Britannia
- Head East towards La Media road, exit at La Media, turn left, then again at Otay Mesa Road, and turn left onto Britannia Boulevard.
Detour Southbound SR-125 Connector to Eastbound SR-905
- Exit Otay Mesa Road and turn left. Continue eastbound on Otay Mesa Road towards Enrico Fermi Drive. Turn right onto Enrico Fermi Drive and continue south towards Siempre Viva Road.
Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.
The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other construction-related reasons.
