Travelers who do not intend to go to Mexico will exit earlier

SAN DIEGO — Caltrans crews will close the eastbound State Route (SR-905) Britannia Boulevard off-ramp and Siempre Viva Road/Last U.S. exit Wednesday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for corrective roadway striping. The southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) to eastbound SR-905 connector will be closed on Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Those who do not wish to cross the Otay Mesa Port of Entry into Mexico can access the following detour:

Eastbound SR-905 last U.S. exit

  • Keep right at the State Route 11 (SR-11) connector, exit Enrico Fermi Drive off-ramp, and turn right onto Enrico Fermi Drive.

**A U-Turn to USA will be available via the left lane on SR-905 before the Port of Entry for motorists who miss the detour signage.

EB SR-905 Siempre Viva road. Off Ramp-Closure diagram. Detours: For SB SR-125 or EB SR-905, take SR-11 connector. Exist Enrico Fermi Dr. off-ramp. Turn Right onto Enrico Fermi Drive. U-turn to USA will be available via the left lane on SR-905 before the Port of Entry for motorists who miss the detour signage.

Eastbound SR-905 Britannia

  • Head East towards La Media road, exit at La Media, turn left, then again at Otay Mesa Road, and turn left onto Britannia Boulevard.

EB SR-905 Britannia Blvd. Off-Ramp Closure. Detour for EB SR-905: Head east towards La Media road. exit. Turn left onto La Media road. Turn left at Otay Mesa Road to Britannia Boulevard.

Detour NB 5 Connector to EB 905

  • Exit Coronado Avenue, turn left and right towards Southbound I-5 towards the SR-905 Connector.

Detour EB 905 at I-5 interchange

  • Head east towards the northbound I-5 ramp. Exit Coronado Avenue, turn left and right towards Southbound I-5 to SR-905 Connector.

Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other construction-related reasons.
