San Diego - Caltrans crews will close connectors to westbound Interstate 8 on Sunday, August 7 in Mission Valley from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Crews are making progress on a paving project to expand the lifespan of over two miles of the Interstate. All eastbound paving work has been completed, and westbound lanes will continue to be paved.

The work is scheduled at night during low traffic volumes to minimize traffic impacts, increase worker safety and for the safety of the traveling public.

Nearby residents and businesses can expect nighttime construction noise and lights, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) required vehicle back-up alarms. Crews will work to minimize noise and impacts to all nearby communities.
