SAN DIEGO — Crews will close all lanes of State Route 56 (SR-56) between Carmel Valley Road and Camino Del Sur tonight for the Torrey Meadows Bridge Project. Changeable message signs have been installed to alert motorists of the closure.

  • The westbound lanes will close from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
  • The eastbound lanes will close from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Westbound motorists will be detoured to the Camino Del Sur off-ramp and continue north on Camino Del Sur, to westbound Carmel Valley Road to the westbound Carmel Valley Road SR-56 on-ramp.

Eastbound motorist will be detoured to the Carmel Valley Road off-ramp and continue north on Carmel Valley Road, to southbound Camino Del Sur to the eastbound Camino Del Sur SR-56 on-ramp.

The $7 million, city of San Diego funded, Torrey Meadows Bridge Project will connect the north and south communities of Carmel Valley and eliminate nearly two miles of out of direction travel for both sides.
