SR-11/ Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Gallery

Construction is currently underway on the final segment of SR 11, the future toll road, and the SR 125/SR 11/SR 905 southbound connector ramps which are part of the overall SR 11/OME POE project.

image-30 July 2019 – As part of the SR 11/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project, several sites in South County were preserved as open space to mitigate impacts from construction, including Johnson Canyon. This habitat is home to many plants and animals, including the coastal California gnatcatcher, Least Bell’s vireo, the Quino checkerspot butterfly, the Otay tarplant, and the Cactus wren.
