Closures On Interstate 5 & State Routes 4, 33, & 99

Stanislaus County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on Interstate 5, State Route 4 (SR-4), SR-33, and SR-99 for maintenance and construction work in Stanislaus County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 4

State Route 33

  • Overnight, one-way traffic control between Fourth Street and Sperry Avenue for construction work beginning Sunday, August 30, through Friday, September 4, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
  • Overnight, one-way traffic control between M Street and Eucalyptus Avenue for construction work beginning Sunday, August 30, through Friday, September 4, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

State Route 99

  • Full closure of the southbound off-ramp to Maze Boulevard/L Street for landscape work on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Interstate 5

  • Long-term, full closures of the northbound and southbound Westley Safety Roadside Rest Areas and the auxiliary lane leading to the southbound rest area exit for construction work.
  • Note: This project is expected to continue through summer 2026.
