Various Closures On Interstate 5 & State Route 4
Stanislaus County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on Interstate 5 and State Route 4 (SR-4) for maintenance and construction work within Stanislaus County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:
State Route 4
- Overnight, intermittent one-way traffic control from the San Joaquin/Stanislaus County line to Hoods Creek for drainage work beginning Sunday, July 12, through Friday, July 17, from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.

Interstate 5
- Long-term, full closures of the northbound and southbound Westley Safety Roadside Rest Areas and the auxiliary lane leading to the southbound rest area exit for construction work. Note: This project is expected to continue through summer 2026.
Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
