TRAFFIC ADVISORY

STANISLAUS RIVER ACCESS CLOSURE SCHEDULE

State Route 99 AT STANISLAUS RIVER BRIDGE NEAR RIPON

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is resuming work on the State Route 99 (SR-99) Stanislaus River Bridge Rehabilitation Project, which will require closures and restrict access to the Stanislaus River for the safety of workers and the public.

Stanislaus River closure dates are as follows;

  • Full closure from Monday, June 8, through Thursday, July 23, 2020

  • Intermittent closures from Friday, July 24, through Friday, November 6, 2020

Work on the $18.2 million SR-99 Stanislaus River Bridge Rehabilitation Project began in April 2019 and is scheduled to continue through December 2020.  Crews will replace approximately 200 feet of the southern portion of the southbound bridge, including replacing the arch portions of spans #3 and #4 with a new structure.

Due to this construction, there will be no access to the Stanislaus River under State Route 99.  To shorten the project length, crews are working day & night, Sundays through Fridays.  Traffic shifts have been implemented to allow for three open traffic lanes on northbound and southbound SR-99 during construction.  Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and Be Work Zone Alert.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.

For the safety of workers and other motorists, please Be Work Zone Alert.
