No Traffic Controls Scheduled
Ebbetts & Monitor Pass Updates
Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will not have traffic controls in place next week for construction and maintenance operations.
Ebbetts Pass Update:
Caltrans Woodford Maintenance crews will be temporarily relocating the SR-4 / Ebbetts Pass westbound closure from the Raymond Meadows gate back to the SR-4/89 Junction for the incoming storm cycle. Caltrans would like to remind the public there is no pedestrians access allowable on SR-4 / Ebbetts Pass during pass clearing operations.
Monitor Pass Update:
Caltrans will temporarily close State Route 89 / Monitor Pass to motorists on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. for the incoming storm cycle. Caltrans will re-open the pass after the weather clears and the roadway is safe for the traveling public. Caltrans reminds motorists to continue using caution while driving in winter conditions and watch for icy road surfaces in the overnight and early morning hours.

Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will display information regarding the pass closures for motorists.
