Virtual Public Meeting Scheduled for State Route 59 Intersection Control in Merced County

STOCKTON — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will hold a public information meeting in the form of a Virtual Public Meeting regarding the State Route 59 Intersection Control Project in Merced County.

The Virtual Public Meeting will be held online from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

Caltrans proposes to improve safety at the intersection of State Route 59 and Gerard Avenue in Merced County near the City of Merced. Two build alternatives and a no-build alternative are being considered. The proposed build alternatives feature the choice of a traffic signal or a single-lane roundabout.

The Virtual Public Meeting will include a presentation with an opportunity for attendees to speak with the project team and ask questions about the proposed alternatives.

Caltrans will consider all comments before continuing with the project’s environmental process and design.
