Caltrans To Begin Bridge Maintenance Project at Several Locations in Amador County

AMADOR COUNTY – Caltrans is preparing to begin a bridge preventative maintenance project to make necessary repairs at four bridge locations on State Routes 49 (SR-49), SR-88 and SR-104 in Amador County. 

The project will include the repair of existing bridge deck concrete, installation of polyester concrete overlays, and the replacement of various joint seals and bridge deck approach and departure slabs.  Work will occur at the following locations;

  • State Route 49 at the Consumnes River Bridge (Amador/El Dorado County line)
  • State Route 88 at Silver Lake Spillway
  • State Route 104 at Dry Creek Bridge
  • State Route 104 at Sutter Creek Bridge

The project is set to begin the week of June 9-15, 2024, (weather permitting) with completion expected by September 2024.

Motorists should expect one-way traffic control during daytime hours (6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.) at all locations, while the SR-104 Sutter Creek Bridge location will see one-way traffic control during nighttime work (8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.) Caltrans will have roadside signage and/or flaggers alerting motorists of the closures.

This $1.4 million maintenance project is scheduled for 50 working days and will be performed by McCuen Construction, Inc. (Loomis, CA.)
