State Route 26 Upgrade Bridge Rails of Two Bridges in Calaveras County

Project Description

This project proposes to replace the bridge barrier rails for the South Fork Mokelumne River Bridge (BR.# 30-0022), and the North Fork Mokelumne River Bridge (Br.# 30-0049).  The South Fork Mokelumne River Bridge will also be seismically retrofitted.

Purpose

Replace the existing bridge rails at two bridges with current and standard design and install seismic retrofitting at one bridge.  

Need

The Structure Replacement and Improvement Needs (STRAIN) Report and the Office of Structure Maintenance and Investigations have identified the need to upgrade the non-standard bridge rails.
