San Joaquin SR99 Farmington Bridge Replacement
The project proposes to improve vertical clearance of 16’6” the bridge at State Route (SR) 4/99 Separation (Farmington Road Bridge, #29-0155) over SR 99 in the City of Stockton. The project is replacing the bridge.
PURPOSE AND NEED
The purpose of the project is to provide the minimum standard vertical clearance of 16 feet 6 inches on SR 99 for the Transportation Permit Requirements for Bridges. The bridge currently has low vertical clearance and have a history of high load hits that have damaged the bridge girders. Per bridge inspection reports this bridge needs to be replaced to provide the standard vertical clearance in order to eliminate bridge strikes, avid costly repairs, traffic delays and out of direction transportation permit requirements.
This project is programmed in the 2016 SHOPP under programming code 20.XX.201.322 (Transportation Permit Requirements for Bridge) in fiscal year of 2019/2020.
