Plymouth Gateway & Trails Project

Project Description

The project proposes to install 3,543 linear feet (LF) of a paved Class 1 trail along SR 49 from about 1,050 LF north of Zinfandel Parkway to 300 LF south of the Main Street, Plymouth, CA. The gateway signs were removed from the original Clean CA Enhancement Proposal (CCEP). The local community leaders engaged in the project proposed the trail system was the highest priority to them.

Project Benefits

Purpose

The purpose of this project is to provide a Class 1 Bicycle and Pedestrian trail to enhance livability, recreation and safety for the community and visitors. The trail is a first step toward beautifying the State Route 49.

Need

There is a need for trail to provide recreational opportunities along the highway to promote health and safety.
