Tuolumne 49 Pavement Anchor Project

Project Description

This project proposes to restore the pavement from Jamestown to Sonora while adding and installing complete street assets within primary project location limits and addressing bridge work in East Sonora. The work consists of cold planning existing pavement and resurfacing with various materials while adding / installing sidewalks, Class I & II bike lanes, transit stops, and a retaining wall. The bridge work includes placing polyester concrete on bridge deck and approach slabs.

Project Benefits

Purpose

Restore the facility to a state of good repair by rehabilitating the roadway, reducing maintenance expenditures by the Department, and providing safe conditions for Field Maintenance by reducing excessive exposure to moving traffic.

Need

Not promptly implementing maintenance strategies reduces the design life and level of service resulting in increasing costs to maintain and challenges for field maintenance staff to repair SR 49 in a condition that is adequate for the traveling public.

PA&ED allocated in March 2024. PA&ED to start. TCTC interested and coordination with 10-1L200 (Jamestown Widening project)
