Tuolumne 49 Pavement Anchor Project
Project Description
This project proposes to restore the pavement from Jamestown to Sonora while adding and installing complete street assets within the project limits along with addressing culvert and bridge work in Sonora. The work consists of cold planning existing pavement and resurfacing with various materials while adding/installing sidewalks, Class I & II bike lanes, transit stops, rehabilitation of culvert and a retaining wall. The bridge work includes placing polyester concrete on bridge deck and approach slabs.

Project Benefits
Purpose & Need
The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate and extend pavement service life, repair infrastructure, provide pedestrian and bicyclist facilities, and improve access to public transit. The project is needed to rehabilitate deteriorating pavement along SR 49, provide pedestrian, bicyclist, and transit facilities within Jamestown, upgrade curb ramps to comply with ADA requirements and rehabilitate and replace culverts. There is also a need to rehabilitate deteriorating bridge deck at Mono Way Undercrossing and to widen Woods Creek Bridge to accommodate evacuation traffic as well as provide safe pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
