Project Description
This is a Maintenance Roadside Safety Improvements project which will be funded from the State Highways Operations and Protection Program (SHOPP) Roadside Safety Improvements (201.235) program. This project proposes to construct Maintenance Vehicle Pullouts (MVP), gore paving, slope paving, install guardrail, place weed control mat.
Project Benefits
Purpose
The purpose of this project is to improve maintenance worker safety by providing a safer working environment for maintenance personnel and by reducing the frequency and duration of maintenance activities.

This exposes them to passing traffic and exposes the traveling public to potential conflicts with maintenance workers, vehicles, and equipment on the roadside. This project is needed to improve worker safety by providing effective means to minimize or eliminate the risk of worker exposure to traffic.
