State Route 4 Ramp Metering System Installed
Project Description
To Install ramp meters, monitoring systems, closed circuit televisions (CCTVS), and loops at immediate city streets intersection to the ramps to minimize the traffic impacts to local streets. The project is located on State Route (SR) 4 from Interstate 5 to SR 99 on ramps at South Center Street, El Dorado Street, South Stanislaus Street, South Wilson Way, East Lafayette Street, and north and south Filbert Street.
Project Benefits
Purpose and Need
The purpose and need of this project are to reduce traffic congestion and improve traffic flow during the morning and afternoon peak hours on State Route 4 from Interstate 5 to SR 99 in the City of Stockton. The increasing use of local streets to access the ramps on SR4, from I-5 to SR99 is leading to congestion and delays during the morning and evening peak hours on the ramps and on the freeways.
Funding Source
This project is funded by the 2018 State Highway Operation and Protection Program (SHOPP) and Senate Bill-1 (SB1) Program under Transportation Management Systems for delivery on 21/22.
