Merced Seismic Retrofit

Project Description

The scope of work consists of seismic retrofit and bridge rail upgrade at five locations on State Routes (SR) 59, 140, and 152 in Merced County to increase the structural integrity in case of a seismic event, and to meet current bridge rail safety standards.

Funding Source


The project is currently programmed in the 2018 State Highway Operations and Protection Program (SHOPP) under the Seismic Restoration program (201.113) for funding in the 2019/20 fiscal year.


Project Status


Currently the project is in construction and expected to end construction in Fall of 2025. About 70% of the project is complete.
