Danny Yost is a licensed civil engineer who came to Caltrans’ Division of Legislative Affairs with traffic engineering and transportation planning experience from Fehr & Peers, the San Francisco County Transportation Authority, and the City of Walnut Creek, where he served as a Transportation Commissioner. He also has experience as a fellow for the U.S. Senate Committee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Affairs and as a graduate instruction in public speaking, leadership, and public policy. He began his transportation career at Caltrans as a high-school intern in Structures Maintenance and Investigations.
He leads Caltrans’ interaction with the California State Legislature, including on legislation, inquiries, hearings, and reports in collaboration with Caltrans’ programs and districts.
Danny holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering with a minor in City & Regional Planning as well as a Master of Public Policy degree from UC Berkeley.
