Strategy Unit

Overview

The Strategy Unit provides guidance and support to all divisions, districts, and programs to eliminate barriers, reduce burdens, and provide solutions that closely align with our Caltrans mission and values. The Strategy Unit collaborates with the Caltrans Equal Employment Opportunity Program and the Caltrans Office of Civil Rights to advance equity at Caltrans within all functions of the department.

Our Work

Oversees the Caltrans Race and Equity Action Plan

A coordinated effort to identify priorities and strategies that advance equity in alignment with the Department’s goals. This effort is led by the Director’s Office of Equity & Tribal Affairs, in partnership with the Equal Employment Opportunity Program, Office of Civil Rights, and other Caltrans Headquarters divisions and districts.

We work with staff across Caltrans to consider how our work impacts communities throughout California. To this end, we provide support to all districts, divisions, and programs on initiatives that help eliminate disparities while improving outcomes for all.
