About Us

As part of Caltrans' commitment to deliver on its Equity Statement, the Director's Office of Sustainability and Caltrans' Office of Race and Equity (CORE) have combined forces to form the new Director's Office of Equity, Sustainability & Tribal Affairs (ESTA). This merger represents the Department's commitment to advancing holistic, integrated, and restorative policies to planning, building, and advocating for a more just transportation system. We work across the Department to align sustainability and equity initiatives, targets, and activities between the Director's Office, Headquarters Divisions, the 12 Caltrans Districts, Tribal Governments, and external partners as outlined in the Department's 2020-2024 Strategic Plan.
