Authorized Facility Audit List
Overview
The Authorized Facility Audit Lists (AFAL) identify facilities approved by Caltrans to supply materials/products for transportation projects. Facilities are audited to ensure they have effective Quality Management Systems (QMS) and meet Caltrans contract requirements, Standard Specifications, and Standard Plans.
Audits typically involve the review of quality control practices, documentation, and compliance with testing and material standards. They also help new suppliers understand Caltrans’ procedures and expectations, ensuring consistent, high-quality materials are delivered across all projects.
