Section 48 Temporary Structures

4-4801 General

Temporary structures includes falsework, temporary supports for existing structures, temporary decking for joint or deck reconstruction, and jacking support systems for lowering bridge superstructure. For guidance on temporary structures, refer to Section 48, "Temporary Structures," of Structure Construction's Bridge Construction Records and Procedures Manual, Vol. 2, as well as Chapter 7, "Bridge Deck Construction," of the Reinforced Concrete Construction Manual and the Falsework Manual at:
