In this Caltrans News Flash, Public Information Officer Maria Rocha explores the importance of securing truck cargo loads to reduce traffic incidents, litter, and worker time spent in traffic lanes. An unsecured truck load is dangerous and illegal, and items that fall or fly out increase the state’s litter problem. Time spent collecting trash cuts the time available for repairing roads, trimming trees and other tasks. The public can help fight trash by securing cargo loads and putting litter in the proper receptacle
