SACRAMENTO – Motorists navigating the maze of Sacramento area freeways now have a new tool to help keep them on the right track

As part of two Senate Bill 1-funded striping projects in Sacramento, 65 shield pavement markings were installed on the roadway to help motorists know which lane to be in when merging from one freeway to another.

In this Caltrans News Flash, we demonstrate how the shield decals were placed like puzzle pieces on the freeway, see what the finished product looks like, and speak to motorists on how they like the navigational guides.
