Cache Creek Pavement Project

Project Information 

The Cache Creek Pavement project proposes to preserve, repair, and extend the service life of the existing pavement and improve ride quality near Tehachapi, from 0.1 mile west of Sand Canyon Road Undercrossing to 1.2 miles west of Business Route 68 West Overcrossing. The project would close access control gaps in Caltrans Right of Way and replace right of way fencing. Other features of the project include:

  • Upgrading guardrail.
  • Installing lighting systems at the on- and off-ramps at Sand Canyon Road, Cameron Road, and the weigh stations.
  • Replacing existing weigh-in motion scales.
  • Cleaning culvert throughout the project area.

  • June 5, 2028: Project Advertised
  • 2029: Construction Begins
