MAMMOTH LAKES ―Caltrans will reopen State Route 203 tomorrow, June 7, at 7:00 am. This is the final District 9 highway to reopen from its winter closure. SR 203 will open west of Mammoth Mountain from the ski resort to the end of the highway. The reopening of 203 will coincide with the reopening of Reds Meadow and Devils Postpile National Monument. Drivers should be aware that access to those recreation spots will be limited this summer to Fridays and weekends.

Reds Meadow Road is undergoing a reconstruction effort by the Forest Service to reduce the amount of vehicle incidents and safety concerns. The ESTA shuttle will run on Reds Meadow Road from 9:00 am on Fridays to 7:00 pm on Sundays. With the summer travel season here, now is the best time to download the Quickmap app to your iOS or Android device. The app gives users the latest information on highway conditions, including lane closures, road closures, and rest area availability. Before you hit the road this year, plan your trip with the Quickmap app or website at quickmap.dot.ca.gov. You can also call the Road Condition Hotline at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623).
