State Route 89 (Monitor Pass) Reopens from Winter Closure

MONO COUNTY — Caltrans will reopen State Route 89 (Monitor Pass) from its winter closure today at noon. This the first highway in Mono County to reopen for the season. Though the highway will reopen for the season, the pass is subject to storm closures as weather conditions require.

The remaining winter closures for Caltrans District 9 are still in effect. This includes:

·        State Route 270 (Bodie Road)

·        State Route 120 E (Mono Mills Road)

·        State Route 108 (Sonora Pass)

·        Crestview Safety Roadside Rest Area

·        State Route 158 (N. June Lake Loop)

·        State Route 168 W (Aspendell)

·        State Route 120 W (to the eastern gate of Yosemite National Park)

·        State Route 203 at Mammoth Mountain Lodge
