The goal of the LA I-10 and I-110 Highway Beautification Project, which is funded by LA Metro, is to enhance the visual appeal of eight locations along I-110 between State Route 91 (SR 91) and Adams Boulevard in the city of Los Angeles and on I-10 between Santa Fe Avenue near downtown Los Angeles and Peck Road in El Monte.
Project work includes incorporating trees, shrubs, ground covers and decorative pavement, along with the use of native and drought-tolerant plants to reduce water consumption. Paving problematic spaces including narrow and sloped areas will also enhance worker safety. This will improve the visual quality of these spaces as well as reduce the need for frequent maintenance activities and clean up transportation corridors.
The following locations (see map attached) will be part of the beautification project:
· The I-110/SR-91 Interchange
· The I-110/I-105 Interchange
· I-110 Manchester to State Route 91
· I-110 at Adams Blvd.
· I-10/I-5 Interchange
· I-10 at Cesar Chavez Ave.
· I-10/I-710 Interchange
· I-10 at Santa Anita Ave.
Construction is expected to start in summer 2026 and wrap up in spring 2030, with total costs estimated at $14.5 million.Funding comes partially from tolls collected in LA Metro’s ExpressLanes program.
