Tipton Bridge Replacement Project

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to replace the entire bridge deck, rails, and exterior girders on the Avenue 152 overcrossing on State Route 99. The project would replace the exterior girders due to impacts by heavy-load vehicles. Also, the bridge profile would be raised from 14.9 feet to provide a standard 16.5 feet of vertical clearance to traffic on State Route 99.

Purpose

The purpose of the project is to raise the bridge deck to current standards and repair the girders, which have been hit and damaged by heavy-load vehicles.

The need for the project is to preserve the transportation system and provide a safe overcrossing for public use.
