Responses to bidder inquiries, unless incorporated into formal addenda to the contract, are not a part of the contract, and are provided for the bidder’s convenience only. In some instances, the question and answer may represent a summary of the matters discussed rather than a word-for-word recitation. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of 2-1.07, “Job Site and Document Examination,” of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications, or special provisions nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response given previously.
Q1) For this contract, it states that the licenses required or either an “A” or applicable “C” License. The licences JCS LAND MANAGEMENT have are the following: C-27, C-8, D-49, D-63 and General “B”. Will this be enough to be eligible to bid?
A1) Please contact The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) for the requirements of your specific license. Please place your bid in accordance with the current contract documents.
Q2) I am interested in submitting a bid for the subject requirement. However, I noticed that the prime contractor is required to hold a C-27 license. Our subcontractor holds the C-27 license and has consistently met other State of California landscaping requirements without issue. Could you please clarify if this requirement can be addressed through an addendum? If not, I will proceed with registering my subcontractor for the work as necessary.

Q3) Bid Item 14 - temp irrigation. There are no irrigation plans included in documents. Will there be irrigation plans provided?
A3) Attention is directed to Section 20-2.14, “Temporary Irrigation System”, where the irrigation requirements are addressed. The bidder will be required to propose a method of temporary irrigation for the Department’s approval.
