The responses to bidder's inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendum to the contract, are not a part of the contract and are provided for the bidder's convenience only. In some instances, the question and answer may represent a summary of the matters discussed rather than a word-for-word recitation. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

Q-1) Do you happen to know what the footage is between the light poles or if there is a scale that I can go off of.

A-1) The plans do not indicate a scale. The lighting fixture are in the concrete floor of the CHP truck inspection facility. There are no poles.

A-1a) All work involves undertruck lighting. For scope of work and dimensions, please refer to Addendum No. 2 dated July 9, 2021. Plan sheets EE1-2 and EE1-3 have been updated.

Q-2) Do you happen to know the name brand or a serial number of the fixtures? In order to know what type of lenses to quote on.

A-2) Refer to Special Provisions, 99-16560B, “Materials” of the specifications for fixture and lenses specifications. Fixture Lens: Fixture lens must be cast thermoplastic, acrylic resin sheet, resistant to weathering, colorless and transparent, and having a tensile strength of 10,000 psi minimum and a flexural strength of 15,000 psi minimum. Lens material must be chemically unaffected by gasoline, oil and grease. One lens required for each fixture. Place your bid in accordance with the current bid documents.

A-2a) For light fixtures and lenses, please refer to Division XII Building Construction, Section1.06 99-16500 LIGHTING and Section 1.07 99-16560 UNDERTRUCK LIGHTING SYSTEM, of the Special Provisions.

Q-3) If I can do a job walk of the area it would also be greatly appreciated.

A-3) The CVEF is a RESTRICTED CHP Inspection facility requiring advance notice to CHP personnel of a pending Bidder’s walk through. An Addendum to the specifications is being currently under consideration. Please place your bid in accordance with the current bid documents.

Q-4) How tall are the fixtures.

A-4) The fixtures dimensions are on the plans and are to be placed in the concrete floor of inspection facility.

A-4a) Please refer to updated plan sheets EE1-2 and EE1-3 for undertruck lighting dimensions.

Q-5) As-Builts of the original building drawings and details of the existing facility

A-5) This information is on the as-builts. Please see section 2-1.06B. Please bid per the current contract documents.

Q-6) Manufacture information on the existing explosion proof lighting enclosures

A-6) This information is on the as-builts. Please see section 2-1.06B. Please bid per the current contract documents.

Q-7) Details for the lens hold-down straps and lenses (thickness) to be replaced as indicated on drawing EE1-3; Addendum #2

A-7) Please see section 99-16560 for material requirements for the undertruck lighting system. Please bid per the current contract documents.

Q-8) Access to the work - as there are no work hour restrictions or phasing indicated in the ITB we assume normal work hours and full access to all areas in which work is to be performed

Q-9) How many glass covers should we bid on replacing?
