Contract 05-1P7404 (05A2539)

Q1)  Located at Culvert Location 2 (48" CMP), there appears to be a sinkhole spanning roughly 5' into the shoulder of the roadway on the inlet side of the culvert pipe.  Please confirm this repair is not included under the scope of this project?

A1)  Attention is directed to the contract's Notice to Bidders where the General work description is to Line Two Culvers.  Attention is also directed to Section 5-1.20A for information about other planned work in this area.  Place your bid in accordance with current contract documents.

Q2)  Located at Culvert Location 2 (48" CMP), there appears to be an inconsistency with the pipe sizing.  It appears as there is a 42" CMP Wedged in roughly 7-10 feet into the 48" pipe.  The Provided plans do not note any inconsistent sizing and or correction to said culvert pipe.  Please confirm whether scope includes the repair and replacement of said inconsistency or to install liner with current conditions.

A2)  Plan sheet D-2 accurately represents the existing pipe to be lined.  Attention is also directed to Standard Specification 1.01, "After contract approval, direct questions to the Engineer."  Place your bid in accordance with current contract documents.

Q3)  Can spoils located within the culvert pipe or surrounding outlets that are generated from the cleaning and preparing process be left on site?

A3)  Attention is directed to Section 71-3.01A(3)(b) Cleaning Pipe, of the contract Special Provisions.  Place your bid in accordance with current contract documents.

Q4)  At Culvert location 1 (42" CMP) the downstream end appears to be filled about half way with sediment.  The surrounding area appears to be the same grade as the culvert pipe blockage.  Does CDOT anticipate the contractor to include the removal of these debris located within the immediate area of the outlet?  Please confirm the scope if any and whether additional permits to work within the stream bed are required.

A4)  Attention is directed to Section 71-3.01A(3)(b) Cleaning Pipe, of the contract Special Provisions.  Attention is also directed to Standard Specification 5-1.01, "Furnish the resources ... required to complete the work as described in the contract."  Place your bid in accordance with contract documents.

Q5)  In the bid tabulation sheet, Item #6 states Automated Flagger Assistance Devices.  The Provided traffic control plan appears to allow the contractor to either use conventional flagging personnel or these AFADS.  Is CDOT requiring the use of these AFADs in lieu of manned personnel?

A5)  Attention is directed to the last page of the Contract Special Provisions for the link to the 2018 Revised Standard Specifications.   Then, attention is directed to Section 12-4.02C.  Place your bid in accordance with current contract documents.
