The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

Inquiry 1)  2- on Drawing PLD-1, Section A-A. The detail references the DG must be flush with header. Is the Architect referring to the metal edging as the “Header”? or are we to install 2x6 PT Header along DG path only?

Response 1)  The Metal Edging is the “Header” as shown on the Edging Detail Section A-A on Sheet PLD-1 . The project plans and quantity tables do not call out for any additional 2” x 6” Pressure Treated (PT) or wooden header boards for this project. The 2018 Standard Specifications, Section 20-5.02B(3) “Metal Edging” on Page 331 adequately describes this bid item.

Inquiry 2)  Soil Amendment Application Rate per Plan PL-1 'PLANT LEGEND' (Sheet 11 of 16) List 1 CF each per ‘PLANT GROUP B’ and 'TRANSPLANT SHRUB' (5 Gal Size Plant) and 3 CF each per 'PLANT GROUP U' (15 Gal Size Plant). The total quantity of Soil Amendments added up is only 384 CF or 14.2 CY.

Response 2)  Due to the late submittal of the inquiry and the bid opening today, please bid according to the contract plans and specifications.

Inquiry 3)  The areas for ‘WOOD MULCH’ application area shown on Plans 'PLANTING PLAN' PP-1 and PP-2 (Sheets 12 & 13 of 16). The 'WOOD MULCH' depth is 3" (per PLAN LEGEND on PP-1). Plans call out 20 CY 'WOOD MULCH' on PP-1 and 30 CY on PP-2 for a total of 50 CY (See also plan PQ-1, 'PLANTING QUANTITIES'; Sheet 16 of 16). The whole areas receiving mulch are about 39,000 SF on PP-1 and 45,000 SF adding up to a total of 84,000 SF (See also Total Landscape Area listed on MAWA Calculation Sheet 2 of 3 of the Contract Documentation). The listed 50 CY would merely give the whole mulched areas a dusting at 0.2“ depth. To achieve the specified 3" depth a total of 778 CY of 'WOOD MULCH' is needed, that is almost 16 times more than listed!

Response 3)  Due to the late submittal of the inquiry and the bid opening today, please bid according to the contract plans and specifications.
