Q1) Section 72-2.03A calls for footing trench excavation at the toe of slope however the plans call for a full 3’ deep excavation for the entire riprap section. This will generate approximately 60 CY of surplus material. Will this material have to be exported from the site or can we spread it adjacent to the RSP?

A1) Attention is directed to section 72-2.03A of the Revised Standard Specifications. Please place your bid in accordance with the current bid documents.

Q2) I’m unable to locate any suppliers of “Brown Colored” ¼ Ton rock. Will you allow gray rock to be used? Or please let me know if there is a specific supplier you want to use.

A2) Please place you bid in accordance with the current contract bid documents. Attention is directed to section 1-1.01, “General” of the Standard Specifications; “After Contract approval, submit documents and direct questions to the Engineer. Orders, authorizations, and requests to the Contractor are by the Engineer.”
