State Route 116/121 Roundabout Project
Project Description:
The project will improve traffic operations at the State Route (SR) 116/121 intersection in
unincorporated Sonoma County. The proposed project will construct a roundabout at this
intersection and include widening of SR 116, SR 121, and Bonneau Road, construct pedestrian
facilities, remove an existing free right-turn from northbound SR 121 to eastbound SR 121, and
relocate an existing park and ride lot.
Project Funding and Partnership:
SCTA is funding project development phases for PA&ED, PS&E and Right-of-Way Support and
portion of Right-of-Way Capital. SHOPP funds will be used for Construction Capital,
Construction Support and portion of Right-of-Way Capital.
Project Benefits:
The project will improve the traffic operations at the intersection of SR-116 and SR-121 and
improve mobility for bicyclists and pedestrians by enhancing accessibility. The project will also
reduce the frequency and severity of crashes due to less conflict points and lower traveling
speed.
