Transportation Management System (TMS) Performance and Guardrail Installation Project (Various Locations)
Project Overview
In Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Solano Counties on State Routes 4,17, 87, Interstate 80, 238, 280, 580, 680, 880, and U.S 101 at various locations. The project will modify and enhance ramp metering systems in 44 locations to improve transportation management system (TMS) performance and install guardrail at ramps to enhance highway worker safety.
Scope of Work
The purpose of the project is to modify and upgrade existing operational ramp metering systems where their equipment has been frequently knocked down, add advanced warning signs, and add Transportation Management System (TMS) new equipment.
Project Timeline
Construction Begins: Winter 2025
Construction Ends: Fall 2026
Project Funding
State Highway Operation and Protection Program (SHOPP) - $15 million
