State Route 37 Petaluma River Bridge Preservation Project

Project Overview

The purpose of the project is to address the health and safety of the Petaluma River Bridge on State Route 37 (SR-37). The Project includes rehabilitation of the Petaluma River Bridge deck and upgrading the bridge railings to meet current safety standards and maintain the structure in a reliable and serviceable condition.

The State Route 37 Petaluma River Bridge Preservation Project is in the pre-construction phase. Construction could start as early as late September 2026.

Project Schedule

The environmental phase was completed in 2023.

The design phase was completed in 2025.

Construction is targeted for late September/October 2026, depending on weather and other factors.
