State Route 116 at Pine View Way intersection Safety Project

Caltrans is studying a project to improve safety on State Route (SR) 116 at the intersection of Pine View Way and Lakeville Road, in the city of Petaluma.

Currently, the intersection is a 3-legged configuration where the minor road (Pine View Way) is controlled by STOP sign, while the major road approach (SR 116) is uncontrolled.

The intersection of SR 116 and Pine View Way had a concentration of collisions for investigation. As a result of the investigation in November 2023, this project location qualified for a reactive safety project. Traffic signals and roundabout installation were proposed as alternatives to be studied for intersection improvements.

Project Description

In Sonoma county in the City of Petaluma on SR 116 at Pine View Way. This project proposes to install a roundabout or Traffic Signal at the intersection of State Route (SR) 116 and Pine View Way with complete street elements, such as curb ramps, signs and crosswalks.
