Oakland Alameda Access Project Update January 16, 2026

Happy New Year!
Here’s the latest project information as we begin 2026 on the Oakland Alameda Access Project.
Construction Update:
Construction is expected to begin March 2, with early construction staging visible starting mid-February.
We have heard community concerns regarding potential traffic impacts. In response, the project team is working with project partners and the construction team to update the 2026 construction schedule, including evaluating options such as shifting daytime lane closures in the Webster Tube to overnight work.
Final details are still being coordinated and will be shared at the upcoming public informational meetings and project website once confirmed.
Communication Update
Three community informational meetings are scheduled for February 3, February 4, and February 5, taking place in Alameda, Oakland, and virtually. Download the public meeting flyer here : OAAP Public Meeting Flyer.pdf.

These meetings will focus exclusively on work scheduled for 2026. Additional public meetings will be scheduled later in the year to share information about planned work in 2027.
