A Fond Farewell

Tony introduces the second issue of the Forward and speaks about three upcoming projects in Solano County. Vallejo, a city known for its diversity, serves as a touchstone for a conversation about equity in transportation. 

Sadly, this will be our last Tavares Time. Tony has moved to the Los Angeles area to take the helm as of District Director of District 7, where he spent many years earlier in his Caltrans career.

Dina El-Tawansy now serves as interim District Director.

Tony’s leadership was marked by hard work, insight, optimism, and a penchant for innovation - traits that fostered many positive changes for Caltrans Bay Area.

We’re sad to see him leave us, but wish him nothing but the best.  We’ll throw out the welcome mat whenever he visits – which we hope will be often.
