Westbound Eastbound Interstate 580 Nightly Ramp Lane Closures Until Fall 2020

Published:

Starting Monday, April 23 until Fall 2020

SAN LEANDRO/OAKLAND – Caltrans will implement ramp/lane closures on Interstate 580 (I-580), between 150th Avenue and Fruitvale Avenue in San Leandro and Oakland, Alameda County. The closures will be in both the eastbound and westbound directions of I-580, starting April 23, from 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM, nightly. The ramp/lane closures are a part of an SB 1 project to replace slabs, smooth surfaces of traffic lanes, resurface all shoulders and median shoulders, and on/off ramps. The project is slated to be completed in late fall 2020.

This work may produce loud noises, demolition work, back-up alarms, vibrations, and bright lights throughout the nighttime hours. Work is scheduled to start at 8:00 PM until 5:00 AM, Monday night through Saturday morning, nightly.

Traffic Controls Measures:

Please follow posted detour signs. Changeable message signs and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute.
