SONOMA COUNTY As part of a pavement, approach slab and concrete slab replacement project, Caltrans has scheduled overnight weekend highway closures and daytime weekend lane closures on eastbound State Route 12 (SR-12) in Santa Rosa. The project limits on eastbound SR-12 extend from Dutton Avenue to Santa Rosa Avenue.

All work is weather permitting. Caltrans will provide additional information if the work is postponed or canceled due to weather.

SR-12 Full Highway Closures-Two Weekend Nights-

Overnight full highway closures on eastbound SR-12 are NOT continuous and are scheduled to be in effect starting Friday, January 26 at 8:00 PM until 8:00 AM on Saturday, January 27.

A second weekend night of full highway closures on eastbound SR-12 is also scheduled on Saturday, January 27, from 8:00 PM until 8:00 AM on Sunday, January 28.

The Northbound 101/Eastbound Son 12 onramp will also be closed during the night closure.

SR-12 Lane Closures-Two Weekend Days

During daytime shifts (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.), one of the two traffic lanes on eastbound SR-12 will be closed. Motorists traveling on eastbound SR-12 between Dutton Avenue and Santa Rosa Avenue should prepare for significant delays or choose an alternate route.

The weekend closures are necessary for worker and public safety and will allow Caltrans to accelerate the demolition and reconstruction of concrete pavement slabs, which would take weeks or months to complete during typical overnight closures.

The slab replacement is part of a larger project to rehabilitate a three-mile stretch of SR-12 between Llano Road and Farmers Lane in Santa Rosa, which began in June 2023.

Caltrans thanks motorists and bicyclists for their patience while we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
