Motorists Should Expect Delays Watch for Detours

SAN FRANCISCO - Caltrans is scheduled to begin construction work on a concrete barrier transition and replace the metal guard rail system at the end of the Vermont Street exit ramp along northbound U.S. 101 in San Francisco.

For public and worker safety, the following exit closures and lane closures on the exit ramp will be in effect:

  • On February 22 the Vermont St. exit will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for the installation of a temporary concrete barrier.
  • From February 22 to March 1, one lane at the end of the Vermont St. offramp will be closed to allow construction workers to safely complete the project. During construction the exit will be open to motorists.
  • On March 1 the Vermont St. exit will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for the removal of the temporary concrete barrier.

 

During the Vermont St. exit closures, motorists on NB 101 are advised to use the 7th St. offramp and proceed to Bryant St.  Motorists will then take a right on to 6th St, a right on to Brannon St., and a left on to 7th St. Travel South on 7th St. and continue to Mississippi St. Proceed down Mississippi St. and take a right turn on to Mariposa St. Drive down Mariposa St. and take a right turn on to Vermont St. 

Travel on SB 101 should not be affected by the construction while motorists using the detour on February 22 and March 1 should expect delays. Motorists could experience delays when one of the lanes is closed at the end of the Vermont St.
