Southbound I-280 Highway Fence Construction Project:
One Lane On I-280 SB Will Be Closed At 6 St. Onramp To Mariposa St.
Parking To Be Restricted on 7th St. Between 6 St. Onramp and the Mariposa St. Exit
Project To Begin January 18, 2022
San Francisco County - Caltrans is scheduled to begin construction work on a separation fence on Southbound Interstate-280 (SB I-280) that will help protect the residents of apartment buildings adjacent to the highway.
For public and worker safety, the following lane closures and parking restrictions will be in place from 7am to 3:30pm on weekdays:
- Lane 3 on SB I-280 will be closed between the 6 St. onramp and the Mariposa St. exit.
- One lane on the 6th St. onramp will be closed.
- Parking will be prohibited on 7th St. from Irwin St. to Daggett St. during construction. No parking signs will be posted.
During the SB I-280 lane closure and single lane closure for the I-280 6 St. onramp, motorists should be prepared for delays during the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM.
Work is scheduled to begin on January 18 and is expected to conclude by Feb. 11.
Travel on NB I-280 should not be affected by the construction.
During the lane closures Caltrans will install a chain link fence that will help protect residences next to SB I-280.
