Nighttime Closure of I-80 for Six-Bridges Project

I-80 Overnight Closures in Vallejo

SOLANO COUNTY – Caltrans has scheduled four nights of full-directional closures on Interstate 80 (I-80)  in Vallejo as part of a project to elevate six freeway overcrossings to allow the passage of new, taller semi-trucks beneath the freeway overpasses.

To date, Caltrans has raised three overcrossings. During the upcoming closures, work crews will elevate two more, the Georgia Street and Tennesse Road overcrossings.

Caltrans has scheduled a full overnight closure of eastbound I-80 in Vallejo on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 11:59 PM until 5:00 AM on Tuesday, March 1, and a full overnight closure of westbound Interstate 80 in Vallejo on Tuesday, March 1, from 11:00 PM until 4:00 AM, Wednesday, March 2. The consecutive nights of closures will allow Caltrans to raise the Georgia Street overcrossing.

To elevate the Tennessee Road overcrossing, Caltrans has scheduled a full overnight closure of eastbound Interstate 80 on Thursday, March 3, from 11:59 PM until 5:00 AM on Friday, March 4, and a full overnight closure of westbound Interstate 80 in Vallejo on Friday, March 4 from 11:00 PM until 4:00 AM on Saturday March 5.

During the I-80 closures, eastbound or westbound I-80 on-ramps in Vallejo will be closed as needed to safely facilitate the work.

Detour signs will be posted.

WB/EB I-80 Detours:

Motorists traveling eastbound on I-80 will need to access I-780 to State Route 29 to State Route 37 back onto EB I-80. Motorists traveling westbound on I-80 will need to take State Route 37 to State Route 29 to I-780 to WB I-80.

A 24-hr shuttle service will be available for pedestrians and bicyclists who need to travel over the freeway at Georgia Street or Tennessee Street overcrossing. One shuttle stop will be located on each side of the bridge.
