Caldecott Tunnel Maintenance Eastbound and Westbound July 8 until July 11 2019

Published:

Alameda / Contra Costa Counties – Caltrans will implement nightly closures of the Caldecott Tunnels, alternating between Bores #1, #2, #3, and #4 of Eastbound (EB) and Westbound (WB) State Route 24 (SR-24) between Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.  The closures will begin Monday, July 8 until Thursday, July 11, 2019, starting at 9:30 PM through 4:30 AM.  This closure will allow workers to complete tunnel maintenance that includes striping operations in each bore.  This work requires an alternating bore night closure due to heavy daytime traffic volumes through the tunnel.

Closure Information:

  • Monday, July 8: Closed from 9:30 PM until 4:30 AM, Tuesday, July 9.

    EB SR-24 Bore #1:
