Contra Costa County & Marin County — Caltrans maintenance will carry out overnight deck repairs on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (I-580), implementing the closure of Lane #2 on the westbound upper deck Saturday, October 17, 2026, 8:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., the following morning. The closure extends from the Toll Plaza to the Marin County line; but westbound Lane #1 and bike path will remain accessible.
Caltrans appreciates the public’s patience as we work to ensure the integrity of the roadway.

Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will alert drivers of closure. Motorists should expect minor delays, reduce speed, plan to merge, and allow extra travel time.
