Marin County — Caltrans will continue its Capital Preventive Maintenance project along US-101 in September and October for paving as well as temporary and permanent pavement striping.
Various southbound lanes will be closed on Southbound US-101 from Monday, Sept. 28 through the morning of Saturday, Oct. 3 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next mornings. Northbound lanes will be closed from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. during that same time frame.
The southbound US-101 off-ramp to Lucky Drive is scheduled to be closed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. The on-ramp to Lucky Drive is scheduled to be closed from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.
The Southbound US-101 on-ramp from Westbound and Eastbound Sir Francis Drake Boulevard is scheduled to be closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The Northbound US-101 on-ramp from Southbound Redwood Highway is scheduled to be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Paving operations on Lucky Drive may affect bus routes, depending on whether paving takes place in the fast or slow lanes.
The target completion of the project is summer of 2027, weather permitting.
Detour for Southbound on-ramp for Lucky Drive
- Continue on Tamal Vista Boulevard
- Turn left onto Fifer Avenue
- Turn left on to Lucky Drive
- Turn right on to Doherty Drive
- Turn left on to Magnolia Avenue and then turn left on to Redwood Ave.
- Continue on to Tamalpais Drive
- Use the right lane to merge on to Northbound US-101
- Head southeast on Fifer Avenue
Detour for Westbound and Eastbound Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
- Continue on to Sir Francis Drake Boulevard
- Turn left on to Northbound US-101
- Take the off-ramp to Richmond Bridge/Francisco Blvd./I-580
- Turn right on to Bellam Boulevard
- Turn right on to Andersen Drive
- Turn right on to Francisco Blvd. West
- Turn right onto Southbound US-101
- Head west on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard
- Turn right on to Wolfe Grade; Wolfe Grade becomes D Street
- Turn right on to Second Street
- Turn right to merge on to Southbound US-101
Detour for Northbound US-101 on-ramp for Southbound Redwood Highway
- From Redwood, continue southeast on to Redwood Frontage Road
- Turn right on to Manuel T. Freitas Parkway
- Turn right on to Las Gallinas Avenue
- Turn right on to Lucas Valley Road
- Take NB US-101 on-ramp at Smith Ranch Road from Northbound Redwood Highway
- Continue on to Redwood Frontage Road
- Turn left on to Smith Ranch Road
- Merge on to Northbound US-101 at Smith Ranch Road
